Our History

Established in 1978, Tshovani Primary School began as a modest community institution in Tshovani, Zimbabwe, with a clear mission: to avail equitable competence driven infant,junior and non-formal education. Since then, the school has grown into a reputable educational centre, now serving over 500 students annually. Tshovani Primary School has played an active role in supporting national educational priorities and initiatives led by the Government of Zimbabwe. Through consistent participation in government programs—such as teacher development workshops, curriculum implementation strategies, and community outreach projects—the school continues to align its efforts with national goals for inclusive and equitable quality education. Our leadership has been instrumental in shaping the school’s journey: Mr. E.D. Mate (1978–1994): Founding Headmaster who laid the foundation for a culture of excellence and community involvement. Mr. H.K. Musakanga (1994–2005): Led a phase of expansion, modernization, and deeper integration with government educational programs. Mr. Nhokodi (2005–Present): Continues to uphold the school’s standards while fostering innovation and collaboration in line with Zimbabwe’s educational development agenda. With a strong legacy and an ongoing commitment to national progress, Tshovani Primary School remains a pillar of learning and transformation within the community.
